Job Summary:The Licensed Practical Nurse will work under the supervision of a registered professional nurse to provide nursing care to patients in our primary care clinic. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and conducting basic medical procedures.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and medical assistants, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of nursing care plans and therapeutic programs for patients.
- Facilitate the smooth flow of patients through the clinic by interacting with patients, families, and staff.
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
- Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
- Previous experience in ambulatory care or primary care settings.
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and patient populations.
