Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Opportunity Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The LPN will be responsible for providing nursing services in accordance with the individual's needs, including assessment, observation, and administration of medications. You will work collaboratively with the Director of Health Services, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing services to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assessment, observation, and administration of medications.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Health Services, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct quarterly nursing assessments and provide recommendations for care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Provide education and training to clients and staff on health and hygiene methods, infection control practices, and symptom recognition.
  • Participate in an established on-call system to provide emergency care and support.
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for clients.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of client care.
Requirements:
  • Valid license in the state as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • General knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Training and/or experience in developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Must have a sincere respect for and desire to work with persons with disabilities.
  • Commitment to Opportunity Living's Mission and Vision.
  • Ability to communicate with all persons in a culturally competent manner.
  • Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks.
  • Clear tuberculosis screening.
  • Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/First Aid, Dependent Adult/Child Abuse, and Behavior Management Program, or other training as assigned per specific job duties.
