Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Opportunity Living is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing services to our clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and observe clients' needs, providing personalized care and support.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Health Services, physicians, and nurses to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Participate in the development, review, and update of individual program plans as part of the Interdisciplinary Team process.
  • Administer medications and treatments, ensuring compliance with physician's orders.
  • Provide basic patient care, including taking temperatures, blood pressure, pulse, and respirations, and charting the results.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Temporary Health Care Plans (THCP) and confer with other healthcare team members.
  • Train clients to self-administer medications as appropriate to their developmental levels.
  • Provide instant medical care in emergencies and participate in an established on-call system.
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment, maintaining flexibility of schedules to provide adequate coverage.
Qualifications:
  • Valid license in the state as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • General knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Training and/or experience in developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Commitment to Opportunity Living's Mission and Vision.
  • Ability to communicate with all persons in a culturally competent manner.
  • Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and clear tuberculosis screening.
