MedPro Healthcare Allied Staffing is seeking a skilled Surgical First Assistant to join our team for a travel assignment.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly qualified Surgical First Assistant to provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, providing visualization of the operative site and utilizing appropriate techniques to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis.
  • Position patients to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizing equipment when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety.
  • Participate in emergency resuscitation and stabilization if needed.
  • Assist with body plane closure, application of wound dressings, and securing of drainage systems.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification credentialed by the National Board on Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting as a surgical technologist and surgical first assistant.
  • Current BLS Certification.
