Mill Engineering Development Program

Job Summary:
WestRock is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mill Engineering Development Program Participant to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to various departments within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage technical projects aimed at product and process problem solving and/or improvements, cost reduction, and profitability improvement.
- Provide technical assistance to operating departments to help them achieve the mill's goals and objectives.
- Design, construct, test, and operate equipment, ensuring standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness, and performance are met in production processes.
- Assist in troubleshooting problems and teaching others how to react.
- Assist in the planning and completion of production projects.
- Administratively track any trials, changes, and continual production information.
- Assist in organizing and implementing any changes or trials.
- Make daily checks of production output and contributing factors.
- Promote daily safety communications while helping ensure a clean environment.
- Respond to customer complaints offering corrective actions.
- Maintain communications with customers while helping correct problems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in engineering.
- Demonstrates a general understanding of various sources of information or data that are relevant to the business.
- Has an eye for recognizing errors or differences.
- Plans, prioritizes, and manages time spent on accomplishing tasks to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Clearly exchanges thoughts, ideas, and messages through written, verbal, and non-verbal methods.
- Demonstrates willingness to relocate anywhere within the United States based on business need.
- Works effectively with others to complete a task or achieve a common objective.
- Identifies and analyzes problems.
- Applies 'out of the box' thinking and thorough research to develop creative new ideas and approaches.
