Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clinical team members in providing patient care, ensuring a safe and comforting environment.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and transport patients as necessary.
  • Welcome patients and facilitate the admission process.
  • Perform and assist with positioning patients, transferring patients, and range of motion exercises.
  • Report abnormal conditions to the RN or physician in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate general principles of cleanliness and apply basic nutrition principles to patient care.
  • Provide basic emergency care and coordinate patient scheduling for procedures/appointments.
  • Serve as liaison with physician/facility, patient, and families regarding patient care.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor, based on demonstrated competency.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and universal precautions.

Collaboration with Physician and Nurse:

  • Collaborate with RN/MD in developing, implementing, and evaluating the outcomes of the teaching plan.
  • Explain procedures and answer questions regarding patient care and scheduled procedures.
  • Assist with patient charges as necessary.

Qualifications/Specifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program required.
  • Current state licensure as a Practical Nurse or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact required.
  • Current BLS within 30 days of employment.
  • ACLS required prior to participating in walk stress testing.
  • Minimum of 6 months' continuous LPN experience preferred.
