Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DFM PCBA Process Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. Reporting to the Director of Process Engineering, this role is responsible for developing and implementing process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality, and delivery improvements in our manufacturing organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the manufacturing process, technologies, and techniques to define, implement, and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
  • Independently or in collaboration with other engineering stakeholders, identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process and develop corrective actions.
  • Participate in daily production activities, troubleshoot process-related issues, and implement safety, productivity, and yield improvements.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, review processing methods, and interface with production on new process implementation and transfer.
  • Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer.
  • Lead cost improvement/reduction programs and provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • 8 years of experience in engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related area.
  • Extensive experience in DFM/DFA for electronics manufacturing, with the ability to provide DFM guidelines and feedback to customers for increased throughput and ease of manufacturing for PCBA.
  • Mentor engineers and engineering technicians and facilitate DOEs to drive process improvement for manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills on technical and non-technical matters, with the ability to write engineering reports and present to internal and external customers.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment and processes for DFM, bare fab manufacturing, DOE, pFMEA, SPC, 5-S, stencil printing, pick and place, reflow, solder wave, selective wave, SMT and THT wash, press-fit processes, X-ray, PoP, flux dispensing, and flux.
