About the Role

Merrick & Company's Nuclear Services & Technology team is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support our operations in Aiken, SC. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing HVAC and Plumbing/Piping systems for various facility projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop design calculations, process flow diagrams, and sequences of operation for HVAC and Plumbing/Piping systems
  • Design and layout ductwork and piping systems, including equipment selection and sizing
  • Support project proposals and participate in interdisciplinary coordination and QA/QC processes
  • Lead site inspections and construction administration efforts
  • Direct the work of junior engineers and designers, and delegate tasks as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Sciences in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years related experience
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in SC, TN, or NM, or ability to receive reciprocity within 6 months
  • Strong experience with thermal load calculation and energy modeling for mechanical systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit building information modeling software
