Job Title: Business Banking Underwriting Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Business Banking Underwriting Manager to join our team at First National Bank of Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Business Banking loan underwriting function, risk management, and optimizing delivery of approvals aligned to bank standards, policies, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee new loan underwriting and existing portfolio metrics by managing team leaders to ensure timely and accurate risk ratings on a wide range of loan requests.

Manage group wide workflow, performance metrics, and training initiatives.

Have and oversee approval authority and recommend appropriate structures and risk/mitigants where applicable.

Ensure underwriting product is consistent and sustains satisfactory reviews by regulators, internal and external auditors, and loan review for depth of underwriting, appropriateness of structure, identification of policy exceptions, and critical data points stress-tested analysis of credits underwritten.

Make recommendations for process and policy improvements to capture risk appetite.

Manage a team of Business Banking Underwriting Team Leaders and ensure group-wide performance and portfolio metrics are achieved.

Provide training and guidance in completion of credit analyses for direct reports and other team members, including Relationship Managers.

Act as a senior loan adjudication resource in the business banking loan process within prescribed lending authority and credit risk appetite.

Oversee and manage certain approval authority for Team Leaders.

Assist department Director in communicating risk appetite to team and Business Bankers to ensure salient credit risks are fully discussed in the underwriting process.

Reinforce adherence to credit quality standards and concentration limits within the portfolio.

Requirements:

BA or BS

10 years of job-related experience

Excellent management skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software

MS Word - Intermediate Level

MS Excel - Intermediate Level

MS PowerPoint - Intermediate Level

Exceptional knowledge of wide-range commercial and investment real estate lending and underwriting practices

Past credit approval authority required

Prior experience as a Business Banking RM preferred
