About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our Maternal-Fetal Medicine team. As a key member of our team, you will perform diagnostic sonographic imaging using non-ionizing, high-frequency sound waves for patients and perform specialized imaging exams and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform OB/GYN ultrasound exams in accordance with lab standards and guidelines.
  • Review patient history prior to exam.
  • Communicate exam process to patients.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Work closely with physicians and communicate findings.
  • Monitor templates/schedule for ultrasound appointments.
  • Ensure emergent ultrasounds are done in a timely manner.
  • Complete end of day transmission of images and archive.
  • Assure proper function of ultrasound equipment and notify vendor or clinical engineering of any equipment malfunctions.
  • Adequately clean equipment and stock linen and supplies.
  • Participate in lab meetings, quality assurance, and educational processes.
  • Assist staff and fellows in research projects.
  • Maintain knowledge in the field and specialty, and equipment.
  • Assist in training new hires, students, fellows, and residents.
  • Assist with orienting new employees to the equipment, department procedures, and scanning guidelines.
  • Rotate to sites as needed within the Institute.
  • Assist in new investigative techniques, procedures, and equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge in the field and CME's.
  • RDMS must be maintained in good standing.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and in good standing.
  • Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Must obtain RDMS registry in OB/GYN within 1 year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association).
