Position Overview:
The role requires proficiency in operating both power and manual tools essential for executing specialized maintenance tasks.
Diagnoses and addresses equipment issues and failures effectively.
Conducts inspections and performs necessary repairs on specialized manual and power equipment in alignment with facility maintenance protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and safe operational standards.
Identifies and specifies the supplies and materials necessary for project completion.Plans and executes the installation of new equipment in accordance with established Capital Health and departmental regulations and safe operating procedures.
Additional responsibilities include adapting to evolving departmental needs and performing various maintenance tasks such as snow removal and relocating furniture and equipment as necessary.Assigns projects and teams, establishing work and vacation schedules.
Provides training on safe operational practices and safety measures for handling hazardous materials.
Resolves operational, technical, and system-related challenges.
Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment to ensure proper usage and availability.
Regularly inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with maintenance schedules, to verify timely reporting and correction of malfunctions, and to uphold a clean and safe working environment.
Issues and verifies the completion of monthly preventative maintenance work orders in line with departmental objectives.Proactively seeks and completes unassigned tasks, such as replacing stained ceiling tiles, cleaning shop and mechanical areas, and repairing damaged floor equipment.
Ensures that Preventive Maintenance and Environment of Care Survey work orders are completed at or above set targets.Collaborates with both departmental and non-departmental staff to fulfill work orders independently.
Requirements:
A High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with vocational training relevant to the areas of supervision. Supervisory training or courses are preferred.
A minimum of three years of experience in relevant supervisory roles is necessary.
A valid Driver's License is required.
Proficiency in computer usage, including email and databases, is essential. Familiarity with relevant building equipment, troubleshooting, and safe handling of trade tools is expected.
Working knowledge of various codes (e.g., NFPA, NEC, National Plumbing Code) is advantageous.
