Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations in the Area, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations, and providing support to the Area Finance Director. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and budgeting, with experience in supervising accounting and financial analysis staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations
    • Oversee financial activities, including reviewing and approving customer credit and debit memos, managing payroll, and ensuring timely and accurate upload of payroll data.
    • Collaborate with Area department managers and Corporate payroll team to ensure timely submission of payroll data.
    • Monitor requests and reasons for Off Cycle paychecks to support Area Finance Directors efforts to reduce payroll errors.
  • Planning and Forecasting
    • Support Area Finance Director in the development of the Areas annual budget (AOP) and monthly forecasts.
    • Perform assigned components of the AOP, such as SG&A costs.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Support Area Finance Director and Area Staff to create and deliver timely and accurate financial statements.
    • Prepare journal entries, research, track, and resolve accounting issues.
    • Prepare or research various financial items for reporting purposes, such as flux, ad hoc reporting, etc.
  • Internal Controls
    • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance throughout Area.
    • Provide support to the Area Finance Director for Market and Hub internal control issues.
Requirements
  • Education
    • BS in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of five (5) years accounting and/or financial analysis experience or two years in public accounting.
    • Industry experience is preferred.
    • Prior experience supervising an accounting, financial analysis or public accounting staff preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOX.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels in the organization.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
