Key Responsibilities- Conduct applied research and develop technically sound solutions to real-world problems in a high tempo operational environment.
- Apply advanced industrial knowledge of high-temperature ceramics, metallurgy, or composites to support sample exploitation services on a federal program.
- Develop and implement analytical methods, ensuring laboratory areas meet all safety and security requirements.
- Prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other regulatory documents, and implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure analyses meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate other analytical techniques, perform technical reviews of analytical data, and write/review reports/presentations with clear results and concise, well-supported conclusions.
- Interact with clients and internal leadership to provide updates and summary of testing results, and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- M.S. in materials science, mechanical engineering, chemistry or related field, and a minimum 3 years of related experience; or B.S. with minimum 6 - 8 years of related experience; or appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational skills, problem solving aptitude, and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Possess excellent legible and logical laboratory records documentation.
- PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and Outlook) and ability to learn new software and systems.
- Applicants MUST be a U.S. Citizen and be eligible to obtain a Department of Defense Clearance.
