Key Responsibilities- Monitor and Maintain Plant Operations: Conduct routine water chemistry analysis, monitor plant systems, and perform routine inspections to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in Start-up and Shutdown Procedures: Contribute to the start-up and shutdown of power plant systems, ensuring a smooth transition between operational phases.
- Conduct Routine Inspections and Maintenance: Execute routine inspections, handle hazardous materials responsibly, and ensure the proper functioning of critical systems.
- Operate Isolated Control Panels: Operate isolated control panels for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), turbines, or generators, including start-up and shutdown.
- Perform Operating Tests and Repairs: Perform operating tests, inspections, and make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment to achieve proper operating conditions.
- Assist in Control Room Operations: Assist maintenance personnel during the shutdown of the unit and participate in the administrative maintenance of plant operating manuals.
- Education and Experience: Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school. Two to four years' experience in power plant operations desired.
- Skills and Knowledge: Theoretical and practical knowledge of combustion/steam turbine operations, closed system steam generation, industrial safety, hazardous waste management, and inspection/recording of plant parameters.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties.
