Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at San Joaquin Delta College. As a key member of our public safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforcement of Laws and Regulations: Patrol assigned areas, issue citations, and enforce parking and traffic ordinances to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Investigations and Response: Conduct investigations, interview witnesses and suspects, and respond to emergency situations to protect life and property.
  • Community Engagement: Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff, and respond to complaints and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Special Events: Provide security and crowd control services for campus events, and escort speakers and special guests as needed.
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintain radio communications with dispatch and other law enforcement officers, and prepare clear and accurate reports on incidents and activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in law enforcement, security, or a related field.
  • Experience: One year of law enforcement experience is desirable.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid California driver's license, P.O.S.T. Basic certificate, and successful completion of Government Code section 1031 requirements.
