Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant with Catholic Health Initiatives, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team. In this role, you will work under the direction of healthcare providers to perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering medications.

Responsibilities

* Perform preliminary physical tests, such as measuring blood pressure and recording weight and temperature
* Prepare patients for exams and obtain and record vital signs
* Administer ordered medications and vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration
* May perform routine tests, including EKGs, and schedule patients for diagnostic testing
* Communicate with patients regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician
* Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment; keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean, and orderly
* Document patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by provider

Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course preferred
* Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required if applicable
* Active American Heart Association BLS within 30 days of hire date
