Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs, Inc. (SCADP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing residential treatment services and outpatient counseling to individuals throughout Los Angeles.

Job Summary

The AOD Support Staff II, Registered - MC provides critical support services to beneficiaries participating in treatment while ensuring the safety and security of the program premises.

Key Responsibilities
  • AOD Counseling: Under the guidance of a certified AOD counselor, the Support Staff II learns alcohol and drug counseling functions, including screening, assessment, and intake, and assists in required interventions.
  • Program Security: The Support Staff II monitors program entrance and exit points, searches participants' belongings, and maintains a safe and secure environment.
  • Program Safety: The Support Staff II observes program premises to ensure safe operations, reports and corrects any spills or unsafe conditions, and assists clients as needed.
  • Asset Protection: The Support Staff II is responsible for protecting program assets and reporting any suspicious events to their supervisor.
  • Client Support: The Support Staff II assists clients with daily tasks, answers phones, and maintains office housekeeping.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Registered and in good standing in an Alcohol and Drug Counseling Certification program
  • 1 year of experience in mental health or substance abuse treatment
Preferred Qualifications
  • AA or higher degree in a related field
  • Completed modules 1 and 2 of ASAM
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English
