Senior Medicinal Chemist

Position Overview:
The Center for Molecular Imaging & Therapy is seeking a dedicated and innovative Medicinal Chemist to contribute to our cutting-edge research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Conducting scientific investigations aimed at discovering novel therapeutic candidates.
• Utilizing advanced chemical principles and methodologies to address complex scientific challenges.
• Independently designing, executing, and proposing experiments aligned with project objectives.
• Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of project aims and methodologies.
• Creating new experimental designs to enhance scientific knowledge regarding drug substances or techniques for their identification.
• Providing guidance or oversight to junior researchers and project team members during experimental processes.

Data Presentation and Reporting:
The role requires:

• Presenting research findings, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions independently.
• Writing technical reports and preparing presentations within the candidate's area of expertise.
• Addressing complex issues that necessitate thorough analysis of various factors.
• Staying updated with relevant scientific literature and applying this knowledge to ongoing research projects.

Communication and Collaboration:
Effective communication is essential, including:

• Utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills to convey objectives and results.
• Identifying and validating research targets while advancing state-of-the-art techniques for the development of new therapeutic agents.
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of scientific principles and theories to guide research directions.
• Employing scientific creativity and collaboration to propose experimental designs and research strategies.
• Contributing to scientific literature and conferences through the publication and presentation of research outcomes.
• Ensuring a safe and efficient laboratory environment.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

• A PhD in Chemistry with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an MS degree with at least 10 years of industry experience.
• Expertise in Organic Chemistry, particularly in synthetic methodologies or total synthesis.
• Strong synthetic skills and a solid understanding of modern organic synthesis techniques.
• A proven track record in addressing drug discovery challenges through organic synthesis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Skills:
The candidate should demonstrate:

• Critical and creative thinking abilities, with a capacity to work independently and efficiently.
• Experience in supervising junior associates and leading scientific teams in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Proficiency in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data clearly.
