Inalab Consulting is seeking a Research Budget Support professional to provide essential assistance to the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). This role is crucial for augmenting Government personnel in executing Office of Budget Operations tasks across various domains, including Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Budget Support, Research Budget Support, and International Programs Budget Support.
ResponsibilitiesSupport for Research Centers and Institutes
- Deliver comprehensive research budget assistance to resource advisors at the USAFA Research Center and Institutes.
- Ensure the provision of adequate research budget support services in alignment with the growing number of USAFA Research Centers and Institutes.
- Offer strategic recommendations on funding policies to resource advisors.
- Process essential research documentation, such as load sheets and journal vouchers, directing them to the appropriate government financial office.
- Oversee and analyze research obligations, expenditures, and requests for allotments, preparing reports for Office of Research meetings.
- Identify discrepancies between automated budgetary system reports and funding documents, advising the Government on necessary corrective actions.
Research Budget Management Assistance
- Support Office of Research leadership in initiating and monitoring research budget programs.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between Office of Research leadership, Office of Budget leadership, and other relevant parties.
Research Budget Team Coordination
- Conduct monthly reviews and reporting on unfunded requirements and year-end closeouts to optimize the use of research funds.
- Apply standard budgetary techniques and statistical methods to analyze current and historical research budget data.
NSF HERD Survey Assistance
- Assist in the preparation and submission of the annual NSF HERD Survey related to USAFA research funding.
- Understand the significance of the NSF HERD Survey as a primary source of research and development expenditure data in higher education.
