Job Summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a skilled CDL Utility Driver to join our team. As a CDL Utility Driver, you will be responsible for servicing customers with the collection and hauling of waste or recycling materials to a disposal site or recycling plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate all trucks in a safe manner in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Provide trash or recycling removal services to customers by emptying trash/recycling containers into truck and hauling to disposal site.
  • Deliver trash or recycling containers as needed and replace receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area.
  • Clean up waste spills and overflows, and maintain and update route and driver logs.
  • Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs, and interact professionally with internal and external customers.
Requirements
  • Valid Class B CDL and DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain prior to hire.
  • Ability to read and understand a map, perform physical requirements of the job, and drive all types of trucks in fleet.
  • General knowledge of mechanics of trucks, ability to work in all weather conditions, and good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age, have no more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years, and not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
Working Conditions
  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas, and exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and/or holidays, and be available for 24-hour emergency calls.
