Job Summary:

The Marine Electrician will be responsible for the installation and repair of electrical systems aboard vessels, facilities, and shipyard facilities. This includes the diagnosis and repair of 3-phase power generation systems, as well as the installation of conduit and wiring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and repair electrical systems, including wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair 3-phase power generation systems, including voltage regulation, synchronization, and load share equipment.
  • Follow blueprints and wiring diagrams for the installation of conduit and wiring.
  • Strip insulation from wire ends and solder ends to terminals.
  • Diagnose and repair 3-phase motors, motor controllers, and power distribution panels.
  • Connect power-supply circuits to radio, radar, steering systems, variable frequency drives, and other electronic equipment.
  • Test electrical characteristics, such as voltage, resistance, and phase angle, in circuits.
  • Construct instrument panels using hand tools and specifications.
