Route Supervisor Job Description

DBD Staffing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Route Supervisor to oversee the efficient delivery operations of our transportation department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the timely and accurate transportation of products, ensuring safe and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and optimize delivery routes to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Communicate with the Safety Director on accidents involving delivery drivers and implement prevention methods
  • Conduct yard checks to confirm rental usage and ensure compliance
  • Ride with and review new drivers prior to independent driving
  • Field customer calls on delivery times and product concerns
  • Oversee after-hour calls on breakdowns and assist as needed
  • Liaise between leasing companies and the transportation department
  • Perform road tests for new hires and assist with equipment delivery
  • Assist with yard jockey duties and replace drivers as needed
Requirements:
  • Current Commercial Driver License (CDL) / Class A
  • Clear understanding of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations
  • Experience with driver supervision, route planning, and DOT compliance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of logistics technology and equipment
  • Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of new computer systems and regulations
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
