Success in this position requires a detail-oriented approach and a strong commitment to safety protocols. In addition to performing standard cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting, you will utilize specialized equipment and techniques to enhance the sanitation of our environment.
It is essential to learn and adhere to the correct disposal methods for biohazardous materials, including bodily fluids and sharp objects. You will be trained in the safe handling of disinfecting agents and the specific procedures for cleaning various specialized areas and equipment. Responsibilities also include restocking essential supplies like soap and paper products, as well as delivering fresh linens to patient rooms.
Your ability to be friendly and enthusiastic about assisting others will be vital in this role. You are a key contributor to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff. A clean and well-maintained facility, coupled with compassionate staff, significantly enhances the comfort and peace of mind of patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine cleaning and organization of designated areas within the facility, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Sanitize various areas of the healthcare facility using approved methods and tools, which may differ by location. Specific procedures will apply to patient rooms, emergency departments, and surgical suites, as opposed to hallways, nursing stations, waiting areas, and restrooms.
- Restock supplies in common areas, patient rooms, and storage areas as necessary, including soap, paper towels, bath tissue, and linens.
- Learn and implement proper disposal techniques for all medical waste, including biological and biohazardous materials.
- Maintain a patient-centered approach, demonstrating kindness and professionalism in all interactions with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in commercial or healthcare cleaning is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
