Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Generalist to join our team at Carl Buddig. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all payroll-related duties in an accurate, thorough, and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 600+ employees through automated timekeeping and online payroll systems.
  • Collect and review employee time sheets, ensuring accuracy and consistency with actual hours worked.
  • Adjust and deduct for each employee, managing payroll-related benefits, such as vacations and sick days.
  • Directly interact with production teams regarding time sheet discrepancies, such as overtime and missed punches.
  • Review department time sheets and leave requests for accuracy, flagging and resolving inconsistencies and errors.
  • Administer all payroll data, including garnishments, paid time off, and health insurance, as well as payroll deductions.
  • Assist in evaluating reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals, recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain hardcopy payroll records for all locations and perform general office duties, including filing, reporting, and miscellaneous correspondence.
  • Process stop payments and reissue checks as necessary.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements, staying current with existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee direct deposit, tax withholding, I-9s, and other deduction records.
Requirements
  • 1 year or less experience in payroll, AP/R, accounting clerk, or an associate's degree in accounting/business and no experience.
  • HRIS experience (UltiPro) and payroll experience (Kronos).
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Intermediate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • High level of professionalism.
