Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Generalist to join our team at Carl Buddig and Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of payroll-related tasks, including timesheet review, deductions, reports, and office administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Timesheet Review: Review time sheets and paperwork to ensure accuracy and consistency with actual hours worked by employees.
  • Deductions: Request accounts payable checks for support orders, garnishments, and enter child support via web-based support payments. Administer all payroll data, including garnishments, paid time off, and health insurance, and payroll deductions.
  • Reports: Assist in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency and services performed.
  • Office Administration: Maintain hardcopy payroll records for all locations. Perform general office duties, including filing, assorted reporting, and miscellaneous letters. Print and envelope all checks as needed.
  • Legal and Tax Compliance: Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying current with existing and new legislation. Enforce adherence to requirements and advise management on needed actions. Ensure accuracy of employee direct deposit, tax withholding, I-9s, and other deduction records.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration, teamwork, and a positive attitude. Ensure confidentiality and discretion with sensitive topics and events.
  • Technical Skills: Possess strong MS Office skills, including Excel. Be proficient in UKG (formerly UltiPro/Kronos systems) and have experience with data entry and management.
Requirements:
  • 1 year or less experience in payroll, AP/R, accounting clerk, or an associate's degree in accounting/business and no experience.
  • HRIS experience (UltiPro) and payroll (Kronos) experience.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Intermediate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • High level of professionalism.
