Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to our residents in long-term care. As a member of our nursing team, you'll be responsible for delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of our residents, as outlined in their care plans.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
- Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
- Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Participates in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- A minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing and maintenance of a record of continuing education credits for each year.
