Job Summary

The Lead Medical Physicist at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is responsible for providing clinical leadership in professional medical physics services at the Department of Radiation Oncology. This includes leading and performing pre-clinical and clinical innovation and development of advanced and novel treatment technologies, including Complex Radiation Therapy procedures, SRS/SRT/SBRT, Brachytherapy, Proton Therapy, and FLASH Therapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and interprets medical radiation treatment prescriptions.
  • Collaborates with medical providers in the design and modification of effective radiation treatments for patients.
  • Oversees and monitors treatment plans developed by Dosimetrists.
  • Provides technical assistance in the development of treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy.
  • Monitors patients and develops and maintains established policies, procedures, objectives, quality measurement, and safety.
  • Participates with other leads in developing clinical management schedules and ensures smooth clinical operations within the department.

Requirements

  • Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology.
  • 8+ years of post-residency experience in Therapy Medical Physics, with experience in functional or technical leadership.
