Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psych Tech II to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Psych Tech II, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and support to individuals with psychiatric illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses to assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Assist with medication management, including removing medication from the pneumatic tube system.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field, with a Bachelor's degree and Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in psychology or a related field, working with adults, adolescents, and children with psychiatric illnesses.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and communicate effectively in complex situations.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time evening position, requiring the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
