Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Bridgeport Correctional Center in Bridgeport, Texas. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs of electrical systems, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine schedule checks of air conditioning/heating systems and refrigeration units.
Assist with repair or replacement of faulty or HVAC or refrigeration units, outlets and fuses as directed. Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
Direct Inmates assigned to facility maintenance.
Perform preventive maintenance checks of HVAC units and equipment.
Perform on-call support in emergency situations when equipment malfunctions.
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED).
Two (2) years full-time, wage-earning operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC or refrigeration systems and equipment experience.
Must possess current Environmental Protection Agency approved Type I and Type II Refrigerant Recovery certification. Must maintain Environmental Protection Agency approved Type I and Type II Refrigerant Recovery certification for continued employment in position.
A valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Must successfully complete annual background checks and in-service training requirements, both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
