Professional Sign Language Interpreter Opportunity in New Mexico Schools

A reputable New Mexico school district is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to join their team on a full-time basis for the remainder of the school year. About the Role:
- This position requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience as a sign language interpreter, preferably in a school setting within the last 2 years.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in American Sign Language (ASL) and be proficient in EIPA scoring, with a minimum score of 4.0 required.
- Licensure in the state of New Mexico or willingness to obtain it is essential, as is possession of a valid NM PED certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a PreK-12th grade setting.
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and other staff members to ensure seamless communication and effective learning outcomes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students, families, and community stakeholders to promote accessibility and inclusivity.
Compensation and Benefits:
