Marketing Intern Position

Home of Guiding Hands is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing Intern to support our team in content creation, social media management, flyer design, and email marketing. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with strong writing and design skills, and experience with social media platforms. Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Graphic Design:
    • Develop visually appealing graphics for social media, newsletters, flyers, and other marketing materials.
    • Assist in designing promotional materials for events and campaigns.
    • Maintain and update visual branding elements to ensure consistency across all platforms.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative concepts and design solutions.
  • Social Media Content:
    • Develop and schedule engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
    • Monitor social media channels for trends, comments, and direct messages, responding as appropriate.
    • Analyze social media performance and provide insights to improve engagement and reach.
    • Assist in growing the organization's online community by identifying opportunities to engage with new audiences.
  • Marketing Campaign Support:
    • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote the organization's mission and services.
    • Help coordinate marketing efforts for special events, such as fundraisers and community outreach programs.
    • Support email marketing initiatives by creating content and managing distribution lists.
  • Content Creation:
    • Write and edit copy for social media posts, blog articles, newsletters, and other digital content.
    • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and generate new content ideas.
    • Assist in maintaining the organization's website by updating content and ensuring accuracy.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Help manage the organization's digital asset library, including organizing and archiving photos, videos, and graphics.
    • Support the marketing team in tracking project timelines and deliverables.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas to marketing strategies.
  • Research and Reporting:
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices in non-profit marketing.
    • Assist in preparing reports on marketing activities, including social media analytics and campaign performance.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Marketing, Communications, or related program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • A passion for non-profit work and making a difference in the community.

Work Environment:
This job operates in an office environment. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees and/or clients. Additionally, the individual may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
