Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee the facilities maintenance and warehouse operations at Padre Dam Municipal Water District. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of facilities maintenance and warehouse staff, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our facilities and warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of facilities maintenance and warehouse staff to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks and projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff, providing coaching and training as needed to ensure high levels of productivity and quality.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and manage the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment, including scheduling and assigning tasks to staff.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that orders are placed in a timely manner.
  • Develop and administer contracts for services, including vendor management and contract administration.
  • Assist in the evaluation and preparation of department budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations as necessary, including after-hours and weekends.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
  • Five years' experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, warehouse or inventory management, and two years supervisory experience
  • Valid Class C California Driver's License
  • State of California SWCRB Water Distribution Operator Certificate, Grade 1 (D1), required by end of year one
  • State of California SWRCB Water Distribution Operator Certificate, Grade 2 (D2), required by end of year two
  • Forklift Operator Certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • Qualified Applicator Certificate from the State of California, desirable
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to various locations within the district. The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of weather conditions.
