Job Summary

The Certification Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Developing certification test plans and reports ensuring compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements
  • Communicating with project team members to identify scope of work, schedule, design details, quotes, risks, and other pertinent factors impacting certification
  • Overseeing and assisting with test article build and conformity
  • Reviewing prototype designs and drawings; identifying and communicating necessary changes
  • Identifying potential certification issues and any adverse impact; communicating any certification-related information to supervisor and impacted disciplines
  • Developing tools, as necessary, to track deliverables, testing, compliance findings, to assure on-time completion of certification tasks
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date certification records
  • May interface with airlines, OEMs, FAA, and suppliers to ensure project timeline is achieved
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for certification issues in a variety of areas, including flammability, dynamic and static testing, design compliance, and aircraft installation and integration
  • Developing internal best practices
  • Monitoring latest industry issues and documents; communicating information to applicable team members
  • Representing the company at customer, industry, or other required meetings
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment, adhering to all company policies and procedures
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintaining and protecting the confidentiality of the Company's information and products
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline
  • Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, a sense of urgency, and sensitivity to deadlines
  • Operational knowledge of all certification test equipment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and the ability to analyze, regulatory requirements and advisory materials
  • Technical writing ability
  • Ability to communicate and present both orally and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Detailed knowledge of TSO processes and general FAA regulations
  • Detailed knowledge of dynamic, static, and flammability testing processes and procedures
Preferred Skills/Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Knowledge of FAA (Part 21 and Part 25) and Boeing requirements
  • AutoCAD and/or CATIA V5 familiarity
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Salary Range Transparency: $85,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on candidate qualifications
