Position: Assistant Professor of Family Medicine
The Department of Family Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo is seeking a dedicated Assistant Professor to become a vital part of our team.

As a member of UBMD Family Medicine, you will engage in an active clinical practice within an outpatient clinic and/or affiliated hospital.


Key Responsibilities:


• Provide comprehensive treatment, therapy, medication, and vaccinations to prevent or manage health issues.
• Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests and analyze medical records to assess patient conditions.
• Gather, document, and maintain detailed patient information, including medical history and examination results.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Communicate procedures and discuss test outcomes or treatment plans with patients.
• Offer guidance to patients and community members on health maintenance, including diet and disease prevention.
• Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers when required.
• Establish and uphold a clinical practice that adheres to quality and patient satisfaction standards.
• Implement Patient-Centered Medical Home principles where applicable.
• Foster a collaborative approach to patient care.

• Ensure timely follow-up on patient requests regarding prescriptions, referrals, diagnostic tests, and appointments for urgent care.
• Share knowledge and best practices with the healthcare team actively.
• Demonstrate flexibility and openness in daily operations.
• Adapt to changing priorities and new methodologies as needed.
• Represent UBMD Family Medicine with professionalism and compassion towards patients and their families.
• Utilize resources effectively to gather patient information when communication barriers exist.
• Make informed decisions based on comprehensive information.
• Present well-considered alternatives in recommendations.
• Exhibit timely decision-making skills.
• Promote respect and adapt behaviors to work harmoniously with diverse individuals and situations.
• Model professionalism and uphold the organization’s mission and values consistently.
• Maintain active clinical privileges at designated facilities, where applicable.
• Supervise nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants as required.
• Participate in the academic and administrative functions of the Department of Family Medicine as appropriate.
• Adhere to scheduled work hours and responsibilities.
• Review and complete daily tasks as assigned.
• Follow all billing procedures and compliance regulations.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA and safety standards.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Active medical license in New York State
• Valid DEA registration
• Board Certification in Family Medicine
• Active hospital staff privileges (where applicable)
• Enrollment in relevant health plans, including Medicaid and Medicare, as well as workers' compensation (if applicable)
• Completion of an accredited graduate medical education program.
• Completion of a residency training program.
