Job Summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team at the Chillingham Solar/Storage Site in Temple, TX. As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels. You will also manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO)
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
  • Work independently on-site, with a nearby technician for safety support, and participate in an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program with AC/DC electrical theory, reading blue prints and schematics, and industrial electrical equipment knowledge
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites, Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor
Additional Details
  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation

Salary Range: $53.74 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay.
