Job Summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team at the Chillingham Solar/Storage Site in Temple, TX. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our solar generation site, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues, managing documentation, and submitting reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or SAP software systems and perform electrical repairs and troubleshooting
  • Manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports
  • Coordinate high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO)
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program with a focus on AC/DC electrical theory and industrial electrical equipment
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in solar generation sites, wind generation sites, manufacturing, or mining operations
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as a substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor
Additional Details
  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $53.74 USD hourly, with a competitive bonus/incentive plan and emergency/on-call pay available. ENGIE offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement savings plan.
