Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Universal Health Services. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate sonographic equipment to perform diagnostic examinations
  • Communicate results of examinations to attending physicians
  • Assist with daily operations of the ultrasound department
  • Perform quality assessment (QA) and report equipment failures
  • Interact with hospital staff and nursing departments regarding patient care and concerns
Requirements
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program
  • Current licensure as an MRT or certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
  • At least one year experience in abdominal, small parts, neurosonology, and OB/GYN studies
  • Bilingual status (English, Spanish) is desirable
Essential Functions
  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate
  • Communicate findings to attending physicians
  • Assist with daily operations of the sonographic laboratory
  • Maintain a daily log of patients seen and complete exam billing forms
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer will be required to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on-call status when needed.
