Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Producer, Live Broadcast to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our editorial leadership, you will be responsible for producing high-quality live video segments for our national and award-winning AccuWeather Network. This mid-level position requires excellent communication skills, strong creative vision, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

* Work closely with Director of Editorial Content to develop a unique style for our network and cohesive cross-platform editorial voice
* Collaborate with editors to provide guidance and quality consistency across digital, social, and television platforms
* Produce compelling, engaging content that showcases our expertise in meteorology and storytelling
* Respond quickly and aggressively to breaking news and weather situations, contributing to our news team's coverage
* Develop and lead the show production process, including rundown development, story selection, graphics generation, and script writing
* Line produce assigned newscasts and fill-in for other newscasts as needed
* Execute and deliver strong content in a smooth and clean fashion that flows well across the entire show and all dayparts

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or meteorology from an accredited institution
* At least 5 years of experience in live news production at a television station or broadcast network
* Strong knowledge of newsroom content management systems, such as Inception or ENPS
* Excellent written, verbal, and time management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with production staff and other departments
* Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overnights as required

Benefits

AccuWeather offers a competitive salary of approximately $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Location

This position is located onsite at AccuWeather's headquarters in State College, Pennsylvania. Candidates must be local to the area or willing to relocate.
