We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Exact Staff. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing semi-skilled duties in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of building facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and repair buildings' electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches, fixtures, and plugs.
- Repair and adjust heating, refrigerating, and air conditioning equipment, including replacing valves, filters, motors, and other parts of evaporative coolers, water heaters, gas ranges, and garbage disposals.
- Install, repair, or replace broken windows and screens.
- Replace missing or damaged floor or ceramic tiles. Repair roofs as required.
- Alter, repair, or construct structures of wood, such as partitions, counters, doors, cabinets, and window frames.
- Repair door closures and replace locks, making keys with a key machine as necessary.
- Operate and maintain saws, sanders, and a variety of other power and hand tools safely and skillfully.
- Maintain and repair buildings' plumbing systems, including replacing broken pipe, cleaning plugged drains and pipes, replacing floats, valves, and washers, and flushing sewer lines.
- Patch, paint, and resurface interior and exterior walls and ceilings, patch and paint trim and doors.
- Clean vacant dwelling units, community buildings, and Development office, including restrooms, as necessary, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, waxing, and stripping floors, washing windows, and removal of cobwebs.
- Perform grounds maintenance work, including seeding, watering, mowing, cultivating, edging, pruning, applying fertilizer, collecting rubbish, cleaning gutters and drains. Drive truck, load fallen tree limbs and roadside trash onto truck, and deliver refuse to landfill.
- Conduct annual inspections of dwelling units and complete corrective maintenance and repair work indicated by such inspections.
- Work co-operatively with fellow employees and the public.
- Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary.
- Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields.
- Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
- Deadline and detail-oriented.
