Housekeeping Specialist

Patterson Health Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Services Department, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Facility Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform general cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, trash disposal, and disinfecting, to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Equipment Operation: Operate mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and vacuums to ensure efficient and effective cleaning.
- Supervisory Direction: Execute work under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager and fulfill housekeeping needs of Department Managers and staff as requested.
- Emergency Response: Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to emergency and/or disaster calls within 30 minutes during off-duty hours.
- Collaboration and Communication: Take direction from Nursing Services when responding to emergency situations and maintain effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.
- Supply Management: Keep housekeeping supply storage areas in clean and orderly condition and apply adequate safeguards in the use and storage of equipment and supplies.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment in safe condition and report any issues to the supervisor or member of the infection control committee.
- Continuing Education: Participate regularly in continuing education programs offered through or by the hospital and the department in-service schedule.
- Departmental Involvement: Attend department meetings, unless excused by supervisor, and maintain and apply knowledge of hospital-wide housekeeping standards, techniques, universal precautions, policies, and procedures.
- Adherence to Policies: Know and adhere to general hospital/departmental policies and procedures, including safety policies, dress code, disaster plan, and confidentiality and infection control.
Shift Schedule: 2nd Shift - 3pm to 11pm
On-Call and Weekend Shift: After hours on-call and weekend shift in rotation with other staff
