We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team at University Of Iowa Commun. Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision
- Provide guidance and supervision to pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient and effective operation of the pharmacy.
- Coordinate the work area in the absence of the pharmacist, ensuring continuity of services.
- Monitor and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards.
- Develop and implement training programs for aseptic technique, ensuring staff competence and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Collect and evaluate data related to aseptic technique competence and clean room cleaning activities.
- Order medications and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing stockouts.
- Assist with medication recalls and shortages, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to services.
- Collaborate with the pharmacist in charge to develop, update, and implement policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Maintain certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and adhere to ongoing education requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying knowledge to improve pharmacy operations and services.
- High school graduation or equivalent, including a general mathematics course.
- Four years of experience as a pharmacy technician, including at least one year as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or equivalent position.
- National certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, with ongoing education requirements and maintenance of certification.
- Ability to lift 30lbs (2) times in a row from the floor to counter height.
- Push/Pull 80lbs on a cart.
