Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our mission.

About the Role

This is a clinical nursing position that requires a strong foundation in patient assessment, care planning, and implementation. You will be responsible for administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments and procedures, and documenting treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
  • Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
  • Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
  • Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree) and hold current NYS Registered Nurse license. Additionally, you must obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

You will work in a fast-paced environment where prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills are essential. You will possess knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, and demonstrate ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $38.57 - $63.98 per hour, depending on experience.
