About the Role

The Arc of Prince George's County is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a residential care setting. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care: Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, administer medications, and provide therapeutic treatments as needed.
  • Personal Care and Support: Assist individuals with daily living activities, provide training and support to promote independence, and maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Community Participation and Social Life: Encourage and support individuals in participating in community activities, promoting socialization and inclusion.
  • Communication and Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of individual progress, communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff, and submit required reports in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • A valid LPN license for the state of Maryland is required.
  • At least 1 year of related experience working with individuals in a care-giving setting.
  • A good driving record, reliable vehicle, and current Maryland Driver's license is a must.
  • The candidate must be able to successfully complete training requirements of The Arc.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated care-giving skills such as personal care provision and repositioning skills is required.
  • Must be able to lift a person with assistance (two-person lift).

We serve over 600 individuals with disabilities and offer a range of support services, including community living, family and personal supports, employment services, and day programs.
