Job Overview

Catalano Construction, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Construction Superintendent to oversee site work crews on various projects across Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and manage multiple site work crews to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Coordinate with project General Contractors and Owners to ensure open communication regarding work scheduled and in progress.
  • Inspect and oversee utility installation and testing requirements for drainage, water, and sewer work.
  • Record, maintain, and organize Daily Field Reports.
  • Responsible for material orders and deliveries to keep projects on task.
  • Actively participate in on-site project meetings as required by GC and/or Owners.
  • Manage and coordinate Union employees over various trades: Laborers, Equipment Operators, Teamsters, Carpenters, Cement Finishers, and Bricklayers.
  • Ensure crews are working safely and adhering to the company safety plan, and all OSHA regulations.
  • Field measurements to track crew productivity without sacrificing quality and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with company Project Managers regarding submittals, RFI's, Change Order Requests, and Changes in Conditions.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sitework/civil construction.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and understand Contract Drawings & Specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Impeccable organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with computers/tablets/email communications.
  • OSHA 30 (at minimum), 40 Hour HAZWOPER Preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Valid Driver's License & clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance for Government Projects.
