Mechanical and Electrical Project Leader

The MEP Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing various projects, ensuring the MEP Site Operations teams deliver a consistent MEP product and uphold the brand standards. This role involves collaborating with clients to comprehend and fulfill their specific project objectives. The ability to assess project progress in real-time and make informed recommendations regarding staffing, scheduling, and recovery strategies is essential. The manager will also audit MEP processes for compliance with program standards and implement necessary training to meet objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the bidding process for mechanical and electrical trades.
  • Manage the procurement of equipment and oversee the bidding process.
  • Lead preparation for interviews and participate actively in the process.
  • Mentor and train team members on critical system construction methodologies.
  • Oversee and instruct team members on MEP operational processes.
  • Provide support across multiple projects and team members.
  • Sponsor and assess the performance of team members.
  • Develop and deliver technical training for team members.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of HITT's MEP brand and product standards.
  • Identify and address project challenges in real-time, providing guidance and solutions.
  • Create and manage the MEP critical path schedule.
  • Coordinate essential construction and startup activities.
  • Develop and manage MOP activities in live operational environments.
  • Ensure quality control for MEP operations.
  • Conduct audits of projects to ensure compliance with established standards and processes.
  • Manage staffing needs effectively.
  • Promote adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and oversee the energization plan.
  • Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction.
  • At least 6 years of combined experience in Mission Critical Construction, Hospital Construction, MEP Project Management, or Mechanical and Electrical System Start-up and Commissioning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities, capable of building and guiding a team.
  • Proficient in coordinating and scheduling MEP activities.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and be a motivated self-starter.
  • Experience in managing and evaluating team member performance.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer and software technology for job functions.
  • Experience in preconstruction and equipment procurement.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
