MEP Project Leader

The MEP Project Leader is accountable for supervising various initiatives, ensuring support for the MEP Site Operations teams at the project level to deliver a uniform MEP product and brand. Collaborates with clients to comprehend and fulfill their specific project objectives. Capable of assessing project conditions in real-time and making suitable recommendations regarding staffing, scheduling, and recovery when necessary. Reviews MEP processes and protocols for compliance with program standards and implements training to meet objectives. Engages in the preconstruction phase, including equipment procurement and interview preparation. Ensures compliance with safety regulations and procedures, including comprehensive energization planning and execution. Responsible for mentoring MEP Site Operation team members and conducting annual performance evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in bidding for mechanical and electrical trades.
  • Oversee and manage the equipment procurement process.
  • Lead interview preparation and participation.
  • Provide mentorship and training to team members on critical system construction.
  • Manage and educate team members on MEP processes.
  • Support multiple projects and team members effectively.
  • Sponsor and assess team member performance.
  • Create and deliver technical training for team members.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of HITT's MEP brand and product.
  • Identify project challenges in real-time and offer guidance and solutions.
  • Develop the MEP critical path schedule.
  • Coordinate essential construction and startup activities.
  • Develop and manage MOP activities in live environments.
  • Oversee MEP quality control.
  • Audit projects for adherence to standards and processes.
  • Manage staffing needs.
  • Promote adherence to safety policies.
  • Develop and manage the energization plan.
  • Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction.
  • At least 6 years of combined experience in Mission Critical Construction, Hospital Construction, MEP Project Management, or Mechanical and Electrical System Start-up and Commissioning.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership abilities; capable of building and leading a team.
  • Proficient in coordinating and scheduling MEP activities.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Experience in managing and evaluating team member performance.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer and software technology in job functions.
  • Experience in preconstruction and equipment procurement.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
