Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Foxboro Distributed Control System Field Service Engineer to provide exceptional customer support through on-site installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, process control, and field instrumentation, with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage customer contracts by performing preventative maintenance visits, documenting reports, and providing onsite remedial support.
  • Ensure customer systems are updated with the latest software, quick fixes, and hardware.
  • Develop upgrade plans for customer systems.
  • Provide field beta testing and feedback.
  • Follow global service technical procedures and tools.
  • Review technical orders and proposals for clients.
  • Analyze technical risks of expansion projects and upgrades.
  • Identify product and procedure deficiencies affecting customer satisfaction and recommend solutions.
  • Provide technical assistance to meet quality and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Attend technical training on systems, instruments, application, process control, communication, and safety.
  • Provide data for reports to support management decisions on customer satisfaction, sales, marketing, engineering, quality control, support, and employee satisfaction.
  • Support sales to secure orders and service agreements.
  • Enforce Schneider Electric Process Automation contractual obligations on major projects and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead technical responsibilities for one or more projects, including specification, functionality, testing, and commissioning.
  • Perform system testing, factory acceptance testing, and develop test documents.
  • Coordinate with factory for product-related issues and resolve.
  • Respond to field technical questions and inquiries from customers in a timely manner.
  • Refer customer requests to company specialists as required.
  • Assist sales personnel with customer responses.
  • Attend bid review meetings as required.
  • Site start-up and commissioning of systems.
  • Work in a team environment in a leadership position and as a contributing member.
  • Collaborate with the Global Support Center team as required.
Requirements
  • A recognized degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, or process control is desirable. Military experience is also acceptable.
  • 2+ years of experience with Triconex and Foxboro IA, Modicon, and Wonderware systems.
  • Knowledge of HMI software, PLCs, DCS systems, and field instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with products and services in the oil and gas, power generation, and chemical industries, as well as turbo machinery.
  • Team player with good leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and logical ability, with good judgment, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, forward-looking, and good leadership abilities.
  • Innovative and dynamic, with effective communication skills, especially in inter-cultural aspects.
