About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager/Estimator to join our team at Veit CO. As a key member of our Demolition team, you will be responsible for bidding and securing Demolition construction projects, as well as managing contract work from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Finalize client and public entity estimates and proposals
  • Prepare and/or coordinate preparation of full estimates on large complex work, including reviewing plans and specifications, calculating quantities, gathering quotes and submittals, constructing the bid, and creating the bid submittal
  • Seek out and complete bid opportunities for the company through client relationships, network opportunities, public/private postings, assigned bid opportunities, etc.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with current clients and create relationships with potential future clients
  • Provide overall management direction to multiple projects, establishing project directives, coordinating pre-construction meetings, and ensuring communication and coordination between project managers, field, and office support
  • Manage costs by tracking labor and materials, and manage billing to ensure accuracy of invoicing, preparation of payables, accounts receivable collections, approval of accounts payable in a timely manner, and management of over/under billing monthly
  • Communicate and work with appropriate staff to meet all EEO/DBE project requirements
  • Ensure all aspects of project are met safely, on/under budget, and in the appropriate time frame allowed
  • Seek approval for all project change orders (before work is completed) and manage changes to the scope of work to maintain profitability
  • Coordinate efforts and communication with the project owner/general contractor to work toward safe and timely project completion and adjust project scope of work and timelines as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree; 10+ years of estimating and managing large complex projects experience in related scope of work
  • Good communication skills both oral and written when working with all levels of management, employees, external vendors, and other business associates
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, and know standard conversions used in the construction industry
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, reports, and legal documents, and respond to inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, and internal safety complaints
  • Knowledge of Bidding and Project Management software, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to define problems, collect and document data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, and interpret an extensive variety of situations and events and respond accordingly
  • Ability to develop and nurture lasting client relationships, and maintain compliance with all Veit policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years experience bidding, estimating, and managing structural demolition projects over $1 million
  • Working knowledge of Viewpoint Vista and HCSS construction software
  • OSHA-30 Certification
