Job Summary

Zuma Boston is seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes with precision and attention to detail in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese-inspired dishes according to Zuma's recipes and standards
  • Work efficiently on the hot line, grill, or other designated stations as assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef
  • Execute all food orders with accuracy and consistency, ensuring timely delivery to guests
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and food presentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols, including proper handling and storage of ingredients
  • Ensure all the products and prepared items are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated following FIFO (first in, first out)
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations during service
  • Follow opening and closing procedures as instructed by kitchen management
  • Uphold Zuma's commitment to quality, excellence, and guest satisfaction in every aspect of food preparation
  • Operate ethically to protect the image of the company
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant environment, preferably with Japanese cuisine experience
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors highly preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Excellent knife skills and culinary techniques
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Culinary degree or relevant culinary training is a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
