Role Overview: In this position, you will be responsible for managing intricate industrial control projects, focusing on the delivery of PLC and HMI/SCADA solutions using established platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Emerson, GE, Schneider Electric, among others. This role requires engineering and programming oversight on substantial capital projects across sectors like transportation, data centers, and critical environments. You will also provide guidance and mentorship through a hands-on teaching approach, ideal for those who excel in a mentor-mentee dynamic.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and program PLC logic
- Develop HMI/SCADA systems
- Review and design electrical control circuits
- Conduct field activities including installation, commissioning, and site assessments
- Coordinate engineering deliverables in collaboration with project management
- Implement systems integrations using various serial and Ethernet protocols
- Perform Factory Acceptance Testing as necessary
- Prepare sales proposals and evaluate plans and specifications
- Conduct meetings and presentations for clients, both internal and external
- Draft technical memoranda, reports, and electronic documentation
- Guide junior team members through a structured mentor-mentee relationship
- Minimum of 3 years in controls systems engineering, including PLC/PAC programming with IEC-61131 languages
- At least 3 years in HMI/SCADA design, programming, and database development
- Preferred experience with GE Cimplicity/Historian and/or Inductive Automation Ignition, particularly in large distributed architecture deployments
- 3+ years in electrical schematic design for control systems
- 0-2 years in network engineering for OT/ICS networks
- Certifications from Moxa, Cisco, or Rockwell Automation Stratix are advantageous
- Proven experience with common industrial automation communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, and their serial equivalents
Compensation: $43-$60/hr, based on experience.
